For those that haven’t already seen courtesy of the good folks over at ScifiNow, the cover of Legacy of Steel – the second installment in the Legacy Trilogy – has finally been sighted out in the wild and… it’s another beauty.
(Seriously, I’ve been hugely fortunate with my cover art for this series.)

As with Legacy of Ash there are a few clues, symbolic and otherwise, from what you can expect in the story. While I’m not going to be more specific (early days, and all that), I encourage wild speculation in the comments below.
For the moment, you’ll have to satisfy yourselves with this tantalising copy:
Warfare, myth and magic collide in Legacy of Steel, the spectacular sequel to Matthew Ward’s acclaimed fantasy debut Legacy of Ash.
A year has passed since an unlikely alliance saved the Tressian Republic from fire and darkness – at great cost. Thousands perished, and Viktor Akadra – the Republic’s champion – has disappeared.
While the ruling council struggles to mend old wounds, other factions sense opportunity. The insidious Parliament of Crows schemes in the shadows, while to the east the Hadari Emperor gathers his armies. As turmoil spreads across the Republic, its ripples are felt in the realms of the divine.
War is coming . . . and this time the gods themselves will take sides.
Did you know you can already preorder Legacy of Steel? Because you absolutely can. It’s a great way to show your support and ensure you get your hands on a copy at launch.
So, what are you hoping to see from Legacy of Steel? Which characters do you want to see return? What hints do you think the cover conceals? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time!
Very spectacular! You aren’t kidding about being fortunate in the artwork you’re getting, as this and book 1 are beautiful. And, speaking of book 1, I bought a couple of copies from Goldsboro in the UK, and I’m wondering if there will there be signed copies of this one from them, too (if you know and can reveal the information)?
Thanks much! Looking forward to reading this one!
Best,
Jonathan
Hi!
I believe we’re doing signed copies again, though I can’t say for certain when or where just yet. Best to watch this space for more information.
I hope that helps.
I can’t wait for the second installment, the first was awesome! I got a signed copy of book 1 of the series and would love to get a signed copy of book 2 also. So I am definitely interested in where and when they will be available.

Hi Danny!
We’re still working some Covid wrinkles out at the moment, but the plan is that all the hardback copies will be signed. I’ll definitely confirm here and on Twitter once I know for certain.
